Shootboxing is a fusion of Japanese Kickboxing, Thai boxing and judo/shoot wrestling techniques.
It includes punches, kicks, knees, elbows, standing submissions such as chokes & arm locks and clinch fighting including throws, slams, sweeps and trips.
It was created in Japan in the 1980's and is one of the most explosive and dynamic combat sports in the world today.
NSMA Shootboxing is the oldest and only dedicated school of Japanese style Shootboxing in Derby and the first in the UK.
We are the only school to have our official UK Shootboxing grading syllabus registered, verified and insured via the BMABA (The British Martial Arts & Boxing Association) and also by the UKSA (UK Shootboxing Association) which guides practitioners from white belt through to black belt and beyond.
